Agile: A Software Engineering Discipline

We have a strong presentation culture at Numerai. Every Friday night, someone would volunteer to give a presentation to the entire team. This was one of the talks I gave.

At that time our team was made up of brilliant mathematicians, machine learning researchers, and portfolio managers, but no one had any background in working as a professional software engineer (except me).

I thought it would be a good idea to go over some history of software engineering as a discipline, the key principles of (the original) Agile Manifesto, and end with some practical advice for everyone to apply in their day to day work.
